After finishing up a couple of workshops in Ireland in the summer of 2016, my wife and I embarked on a wonderful exploration of the island with some Irish friends. Starting south of Dublin, we headed up to the northern coast then crossed through some Game of Thrones territory...a wonderful bit of road going through a magical tunnel of trees. I confess that I still have never seen an episode of that popular saga, but the Dark Hedges was magic enough on its own to get me to work the scene. I did some work with my 4x5 camera, but I wasn’t able to plant myself in the middle of the road long enough to get the shot I wanted. A digital captured saved the day for me.
