Barely three weeks after the horrors of 9/11, I found myself leading an Eastern Sierra and Death Valley workshop for the Ansel Adams Gallery. Our common bond of the love of photography and our visits to Mono Lake, the magnificent and ancient Bristlecone Pines, the rocks of Lone Pine’s Alabama Hills and ultimately Death Valley gave us a bit of peace and relief. Sunrise on October 4th found us in the dunes near Stovepipe Wells and my little 4x5 Wista and Tmax 100 let me share this wonderful dune vision.
