Another magical infrared image. In September of 2024, we led a photo adventure to the Orkney Islands off the far north coast of Scotland. We had photographed standing stones and the remains of Neolithic settlements and were waiting for the ferry to take us back south. Being the ever-curious soul that I am, I was nosing around the pilings at water's edge and noticed these wispy shapes and cloud reflections in the water below me. I brought my infrared-modified camera up to my eye, and the subtle wisps of plant life were glowing with a wondrous light.
